participant and team prizes

Your Microsoft Ecochallenge points can add up to great prizes! This year for the first time, we are providing an award on behalf of every active participant. Complete at least one action in every category, and we will plant a tree on your behalf!

The participant with the most points and the teams with the highest average number of points per team member at the end of the Microsoft Ecochallenge will win a prize donation. We encourage you to start or join a team of your own! Microsoft will use data on the winning participant and teams to provide prizes.

For the team prizes, we will award prizes to the top performers in the large team category (11 or more participants) and the small team category (2-10 participants). Please note that the Community Team is exempt from receiving the team-level prizes as this team is automatically generated at the start of the event.

Active participants prize

For every participant who completes at least one action in every category (sustainability at Microsoft, environmental justice, carbon, water, waste, ecosystems) we will plant a tree through One Tree Planted.

top participant grand prize

The participant who earns the most points by the end of the Microsoft Employee Ecochallenge will win a $1500 donation to a leading environmental NGO.

large team grand prize

Of the large teams (11 or more team members), the Team with the highest average number of points per team member by the end of the Microsoft Ecochallenge will win a $1500 donation to a leading environmental NGO.

small team grand prize

Of the small teams (2-10 team members), the Team with the highest average number of points per team member by the end of the Microsoft Ecochallenge will win a $1500 donation to a leading environmental NGO.
